I have a new water softener, how much salt should I add to the brine tank and which type of salt is the best for my new system?
All Aqua Solutions water softeners as well as all other water softeners should never be allowed to run out of salt or damage can happen to the system. Also letting your new water softener system run out of salt will cause the system to fail prematurely.
There are several types of salt you can purchase; Sun Gems, solar/crystal salt, pellet salt, and potassium chloride salt (this may be a good choice for people with hypertension/high blood pressure). Pellet salt is a real 99.99% pure grade of salt with he best “Iron Out” additives. Today’s salt especially from Morton brand, bridging and mush is a thing of the past. When Aqua Solutions installs new water softeners, we will include upto 800 lbs of salt with the system.
